Hey Bibliomaniacs,
It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for my weekly spotlight features, “What’s on your desk, Wednesday?”, where we take a visit to see what’s on somebody’s desk and have a good old nose around. (No kidding!) So without further ado, let’s meet today’s desk, I mean guest…
Welcome to where stories are created, from the desk of author Eileen Troemel
Sassy Brit : Tell us about your writing routine:
Eileen Troemel:
Routine is something I don’t have typically. I write when the words flow. When I’m writing, I’m typically in my recliner with all but one light off and classical music playing. Often my daughter’s cat is on my feet so I try not to disturb her. I write until the words stop – or if I’m interrupted.
On more than one occasion I have forgotten to sleep, eat, or visit the bathroom. Who has time for that? I mean, I’m writing.
But I do have a day job. This means there’s an alarm which tells me it’s time to stop writing. Honestly, it annoys me and I often write for an hour longer. Sleep isn’t really necessary is it? I do make an effort to stop writing at midnight.
SB: What’s the weirdest thing on your desk?
ET: – Probably me…
SB: The most useful item?
ET : – Two things – my glasses so I can see and my laptop so I can write.

SB : Three words to describe your desk?

SB: Where can we find out more about you?

Mallory’s magi gifts send her north into the province where almost all the magi were killed. If anyone discovers she is a magi, her life is in peril. But she must go where her gifts send her. A boy needs her help or he will die.
Leland, Pintra, Faolan, Jadan, Ovra, and Erga travel from Scons province to Lins to seek a magi master. In a small village Jadan gets separated and is accused of theft. Without Mallory’s help, the angry mob will kill him. Mallory steps in, uses her gifts to save him but exposes herself as a magi.
The seven escape the angry village and hide out in caves. When Jadan’s injuries turn deadly, Mallory is forced to use her gifts, exposing herself to the group of strangers she doesn’t trust. Is she the magi master they’ve been looking for or will they turn her in for the bounty?
Tagline – Sent by magi prophecy, Mallory rescues Jadan from an angry crowd. Will using her outlawed gifts get her killed?

Eileen, I love the eclectic thing you have going on with your desk!! It looks like one of those where most people would be crazed having to use it but you know where everything is. Pet the cat for me, please! 😉

Eileen,

Hi Eileen,
I love your little space. Also,I understand what you mean about the writing routine. Some days I have nothing to write. Some days, I can’t stop. Yes. The day job is annoying isn’t it? If only we could call our bosses and say “ I can’t come in today. I’m in the middle of writing a very important love scene. Lol.
Hi Eileen,
It is a joy to learn more about you and your writing. I’m plagued by Ouiji boards this week. I work in retail and a customer called loking for a pillow with a Ouiji board on it. I was in the middleof ringing a customer and talking on the phone so I misspelled Oiuji (widgee) (LOL) my co workers were laughing because I’m an author. Now I see a Ouiji board on your desk. Hmmm… it must want to tell me something.
Love the cover of Wild Magic, adding to my TBR list.

I laughed out loud when I read the weirdest thing on your desk was you!
Dude, you are a brave person having a ouiji board. Those things scare me.
Love your writing process. Will have to check out your work.
Great interview Eileen love! 😍 I adore your work xoxo
P.s the link to be interviewed doesn’t work.
Eileen! Nice answers! Makes me think my desk isn’t eclectic enough! Remind me to send you a picture of the junk on it.
I love the dragon. The weirdest thing at my desk is me… too! I’m a fan of Eileen’s writing, I enjoyed Wild Magic very much. So nice to see where the stories take shape!
