Waiting on Wednesday / Can’t Wait Wednesday

cantwaitwednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, and my version is a mix of what I’m waiting to read, whether it’s a new release that is not out yet, or an older book on my TBR shelf, which I really want to read but haven’t got around to it yet.

Here’s my ‘Can’t wait to read’, book for this week:

I think I’ve seen a similar film where an ill girl met a boy, fell in love, but could never leave her house because of her illness – and it made me cry at the end. I suspect this will go the same way, but because it’s soon to be a film (next year) I want to make sure I’ve read the book first!

Five Feet Apart

Soon to be a major motion picture starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson in March 2019!

In this moving story that’s perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, two teens fall in love with just one minor complication—they can’t get within a few feet of each other without risking their lives.

Can you love someone you can never touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.

Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.

What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

  1. This sounds like a cute read with some meaning behind it. I will have to add this one. Good pick!

    Mary my CWW!

  2. This does sound really familiar, I think I’ve heard of that movie too. Or if it was a book. anyway this does sound sad but good!

  3. I’m actually waiting on this book as well (although I didn’t make a post this week). I first heard of the movie’s premise and when I found out that there would be a book i was sold. 😀

  4. OMG, this sounds like a DEFINITE tearjerker! But I think I should read it anyway, because it sure looks like these two stand more of a chance to be together than the couple in “The Fault In Our Stars”. I TOTALLY avoided THAT book and movie!

Btw, that cover is LUSCIOUS. I think I’ll feature it in my weekly beautiful cover meme! Of course, I’ll link back to this post!! 🙂 🙂

I’m adding this one to my Goodreads shelves!! Thanks for putting it on my radar! <3 <3

Thanks as well for commenting on my CWW post, and sorry for the late comment back!! <3 🙂

  5. Ohh great pick this book looks and sounds like a very emotional and amazing book, I hope you enjoy it when it comes out. Thank you so much for stopping by my CWW post last week my friend.
