Waiting on Wednesday / Can’t Wait Wednesday
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, and my version is a mix of what I’m waiting to read, whether it’s a new release that is not out yet, or an older book on my TBR shelf, which I really want to read but haven’t got around to it yet.
Here’s my ‘Can’t wait to read’, book for this week:
The Death Knock by author Elodie Harper, is my latest, highly anticipated book! I really loved her previous The Binding Song, so I’m very interested to see what Elodie comes up with next.
Here’s the blurb:
Three women have been found dead in East Anglia. The police deny a connection. TV news reporter Frankie smells a story…
Ava knows that the threat is real. She’s been kidnapped by someone claiming to be the killer: a stranger who seems to know everything about her.
As Frankie follows the case, she enters a terrifying online world where men’s rage against women may be turning murderous – and where her persistence might just make her a target. And Ava must struggle not only to stay alive… but to stay sane.
From journalist Elodie Harper, THE DEATH KNOCK is a compelling story of the worst that man can do and the hunt for the truth – at all costs.
This is available for pre-order here… (Available 12th July)

Happy Wednesday! This one looks good, hope it turns out to be a good one. I love a good thriller. 🙂
Thank you! Same to you, too! It certainly does sound interesting. 😉
I have not heard of this one, but it sounds like it could be a great, suspenseful read.
Fantastic!!
Thanks for sharing this new-to-me author. I’m going to check out the backlist now.
You’re very welcome!! Brilliant news 🙂
I had not known about this book, but it sounds like one I would definitely pick up. Thanks for telling us!
You’re most welcome!
Ooh, that’s quite an eerie cover! Sounds like a great thriller! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thanks, Ashley!
Books in this genre always intrigue me no matter what it’s about. I love the synopsis!!
Great news!! 😉
Ahhh, the online world can be a frigging cesspool. Frankie sounds pretty cool too — and strong!
Hope you enjoy it when you read it!
First of all, I apologize for the late comment back….. 🙁 Sometimes I do get backlogged.
This book is a very timely one! There have been several cases of online harassment of women by men from the Alt-Right, as well as so-caled “male rights activists”. Some women have even had to get police protection because their home addresses have been publicly posted online!
Having said all of the above, I don’t think I could handle this book….. I am too emotionally sensitive for this type of thing. However, there is a need for books like this! Hope you enjoy it!!
Thanks for commenting on my own CWW post!! <3 🙂
Ohh this book looks and sounds amazing I absolutely love a great thriller book, thank you so much for stopping by my CWW last week.
Thank you, Katiria! Glad you like it!
