It’s Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the lovely Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

LAST WEEK ON ALTERNATIVE-READ.COM

I’ve started my “Non-Fiction November” feature, and I’ll also be playing along with the “Science Fiction Month” guys, so both will be dotted around my usual posts this month. I’m also preparing for Christmas! What about you? Have you given it any thought?  I’ve signed up for one Christmas challenge this month, and I’m planning more BLOGMAS posts in December, like I did last year.  Gosh! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone!  8 weeks left until Christmas!

Talking of Christmas, please pop along and like my Christmas books page over at Facebook, thank you! https://www.facebook.com/ChristmasBks/

  1. sjhigbee – Science fiction/fantasy writer & creative writing tutor and book addict. I can't walk past a book shop or library and am considering therapy.

This year I’m DETERMINED to get better organised for Christmas – in all my 60+ years, I’ve only occasionally got it sorted out in plenty of time. The complicating factor is allll the birthdays that now descend upon us between now and Christmas – we have 8 major ones coming up… Have a great week, Sassy!

  2. I’m planning some blogmas posts but I’m not signing up for anything formal. I tend to fail at stuff when I formalise stuff, lol.
Good luck with SciFi month! I’m not a SciFi fan but I’m cheering you all on.

  3. fuonlyknew – Voracious reader and love to do reviews. Will review yours! Love Doritos and chocolate. A fan of furry friends. I'm afraid of things that go bump in the night! I do reviews at request when time allows. Prefer print versions but also will do ebooks. If I can stand to let them go, I use some print review copies for giveaways.. Also like doing ARC reviews to promote authors and their books. I encourage authors to comment. My reviews are posted on my blog, Amazon, Goodreads, Shelfari, Smashwords and Barnes&Noble.

I’ve enjoyed your posts this week, Sassy. As for Christmas, I’m starting to look forward to it. I plan to be quieter on my blog as it is hard to visit and comment with a lot going on. Mind you i say “hope!” LOL

  4. Yay for SciFi Month! I think it’ll be fun. Glad you’re joining in. And yes Christmas- I joined the HoHoHo readathon but still have to pick out my books…

  5. The BookWorm Drinketh – I am Nicole and I am an avid reader and an alcohol connoisseur.. which it totally different from an alcoholic.. I swear. I am trying to get into the editing world and in doing so I learned that giving my opinions and networking in as many forms of media as I could is the way to get heard! I wanted to create an open forum to pair alcoholic drinks with books based on the theme, feel and/or content of the book. I will warn anyone who joins me here that you will get a very eclectic range of books as I will read anything from Rom Coms, sci-fi, and fantasy to Bizzaro, Steampunk and Biographies, whatever pairs with an interesting drink! I will also say that I am very honest and I will not pander to the popular or feel the need to give a good review just because I got an ARC read of a certain book. I believe that everyone deserves the truth no matter how much it hurts.. EVEN ME! I would love everyone’s opinions! AND LET THE DRINKS FLOW!! (Let’s just not have the drinks make the honesty get TOO out of hand!) ;p

Wow! You really pack it in for the week!! I wish I had time for non-fiction November!! My TBR lostf has gotten a little out of control… Maybe I’ll see if I can squeeze in at least one.. It’s been so long since I’ve read any non-fiction!

  6. Carla – Canada – I am a retired teacher/librarian. I love to read, especially to my grandchildren. I read most genres, but lately have gravitated to cozy mysteries, romance (not erotic) and Christian Fiction. I do enjoy a good thriller every now and then, as well as some fantasy and the odd sci-fi. I have ventured into Blog tours, but I do not do well reading under pressure. I travel to Florida for 2 to 3 months in the winter (Canadian Snowbirder) but otherwise live in Windsor, Ontario Canada. Feel free to follow and comment on my blog. I try to respond to all comments.

Well. I am definitely getting in the Christmas mood. I am reading a lot of Christmas stories, watching Christmas movies and sorting through my recipes for baking. I am also hoping to put my tree up next week. I do not use instagram so this is a good way for me to see your posts. Have a great week.

  7. I love Scifi so I’ll be watching your posts on them. I’ll have to look up the gluten free book you got. We are 6 months into GF but I mostly remake my long-time recipes so far. I’m not quite ready for Christmas. I need time for autumn and Thanksgiving first but winter temperatures are coming after today. Anne – Books of My Heart
