My Sister ARC Cover

To some this may not be particularly scary in itself, but please humour me and allow me to describe the context. I’ve got a postbox out the front of my house  because one of my dogs always used to chew anything that came through our door. Books included!  (I know, sacrilege!) Last week, I dipped my hand in and pulled out a massive spider. I didn’t know this straight away until I brought my post inside and sorted through it. Now, let’s get one thing clear, I’m (shit) scared of spiders. So much so, I will say I have a real phobia when it comes to arachnids. Needless to say now I will not get my own post out of the postbox, and have to wait for my husband to come to do it for me. Lame, I know. But I just cannot do it. LOL

Anyway, it was late, just gone midnight, I was tired and about to go to bed when I remembered I hadn’t checked the post (meaning I hadn’t reminded my hubby to retrieve it for me), so he kindly brought one parcel in and watched me open it…

And out slips this weird photo of two young girls with their faces scratched off. No book title. No immediate signs of what it is. We’re tired and not thinking straight. WTF? Thanks Headline Books. I almost had to change my knickers…

Well, let me say — whoever is in charge of #MySister marketing plan, has got this down to a T — as they say. Spot on. I love it! Just like I am really into edgy, crazy-girl, psychological thrillers at the moment.

My Sister by Michelle Adams is my feature book for this Friday 56 Meme. I’m also taking part in Book Beginnings, a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader.

An edgy, crazy-girl, psychological thriller. On my Goodreads bookshelf aptly titled : One of those crazy girl books. (Crazy as in psycho!)

Here are a couple of sentences from page 56:

“Yes they are. I remember the day you came sliding out of the dead woman in the very next room.”

Book Beginnings:

“The buzzing of my telephone is like the scuttling of a cockroach underneath the bed.”
What are yours? Do say hi. I will pop over and visit  your blog, too. I’m so looking forward to see what other books have been chosen for this meme!

That is one freaky cover! And the whole spider in the mailbox thing…definitely phobia-enhancing. Thanks for sharing, though, and now I want to know more about the book.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. Eeek! I am definitely scared! It sounds like quite a thriller and I hope that it is one you enjoy. I definitely have a touch of arachnophobia myself! 🙂

  3. Your post is so well-written that I thought it was the book’s beginning. That’s quite a story in itself! The cover of My Sister is definitely eye-catching, and the plot sounds psycho-scary. I hope you enjoy it.
