Waiting on Wednesday / Can’t Wait Wednesday
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, and my version is a mix of what I’m waiting to read, whether it’s a new release that is not out yet, or an older book on my TBR shelf, which I really want to read but haven’t got around to it yet.
Here’s my ‘Can’t wait to read’, book for this week:

Welcome to the escape room. Your goal is simple. Get out alive.
In the lucrative world of Wall Street finance, Vincent, Jules, Sylvie and Sam are the ultimate high-flyers. Ruthlessly ambitious, they make billion-dollar deals and live lives of outrageous luxury. Getting rich is all that matters, and they’ll do anything to get ahead.
When the four of them become trapped in an elevator escape room, things start to go horribly wrong. They have to put aside their fierce office rivalries and work together to solve the clues that will release them. But in the confines of the elevator the dark secrets of their team are laid bare. They are made to answer for profiting from a workplace where deception, intimidation and sexual harassment thrive.
Tempers fray and the escape room’s clues turn more and more ominous, leaving the four of them dangling on the precipice of disaster. If they want to survive, they’ll have to solve one more final puzzle: which one of them is a killer?
Praise for The Escape Room:
“High wire tension from the first moment to the last. Four ruthless people locked in a deadly game where victory means survival. Gripping and unforgettable!” Harlan Coben
“Fantastic. One of my favourite books of the year.” Lee Child
“Amazing…a thriller set in an elevator [that explores] the vast territory of people’s worst natures. A nightmarish look inside ourselves. Simply riveting.” Louise Penny
“A sharp, slick, utterly engrossing thriller. This knockout debut hooked me from the first page and didn’t let go.” Cristina Alger, USA Today bestselling author of The Banker’s Wife – #theescaperoom #thriller #horror #suspense #megangoldin #psychologicalthriller
Megan Goldin is a best-selling Australian author whose novel The Escape Room will be published in the U.S. and UK in 2019. Megan’s domestic noir thriller The Girl in Kellers Way was published in Australia in 2017. Megan was a reporter based in the Middle East for the Reuters news agency, The Australian Broadcasting Corporation and The Associated Press.
What have you been wanting to read?
I was lucky enough to snag a copy of this one! It is available on NetGalley if any of you are over there and want to read it before it comes out. There are reviews on the Amazon USA site, so I suspect it is already out over there, but we, in the UK are still waiting for it here – with an expected published date of 25th July. Not long to go!!!
Is this on your TBR or have you already read it? What your ‘Can’t wait for’ book? Do let me know in the comments below. Thank you!

Sounds pretty exciting and fast paced!
I saw someone on Booktube haul this just last night. It sounds good. There is no way I could ever find an Escape Room fun…and this is probably the reason.

This one sounds totally intense! I think I received an audio review copy of this one, the US edition has a different cover so it confused me for a sec.

oh wow, that sounds interesting and also kind of scary!! I can’t imagine being stuck in a elevator.
I was stuck in one once, when I was a kid. The adults panicked, I thought it was fun. I remember someone saying they’d send up a very long straw for me to take a drink once i got out. lol
