Book Beginnings:

My Thoughts:
This is another book I am thoroughly enjoying. I’ve not read any of this British author’s work before and this is her third book! How on earth did I miss them before? I’ve got a proof copy, so my page numbers may not be the same as the final book.
It’s my current read and I regularly update my reading process over at Goodreads! Do join me. I know I say this a lot, but I really love Goodreads lol.
If you have already read this book, what did you think? Feel free to link up your review to this post!
Friday 56:
With Fredasvoice @fredalicious and on Instagram as @fredasphotos #Friday56

The brilliant new novel from Jenny Blackhurst , the #1 eBook bestselling author of HOW I LOST YOU , which Clare Mackintosh called ‘utterly gripping’ and BEFORE I LET YOU IN .If you love Louise Jensen’s THE GIFT or SK Tremayne’s THE ICE TWINS you will love this.
When child psychologist Imogen Reid takes on the case of 11-year-old Ellie Atkinson, she refuses to listen to warnings that the girl is dangerous.
Ellie was the only survivor of a fire that killed her family. Imogen is convinced she’s just a sad and angry child struggling to cope with her loss.
But Ellie’s foster parents and teachers are starting to fear her. When she gets upset, bad things seem to happen. And as Imogen gets closer to Ellie, she may be putting herself in danger…
I can’t wait to find out!
Have a great weekend full of reading.

Considering the subject matter of of my first book, I definitely want to read this! Thanks!
Hmm. Sounds good. I like your technique of photo copying the page. Unfortunately I usually listen to my books so that wouldn’t work for me. Sigh. My Book Beginning is at the bottom of the book review page
Thanks for visiting my blog…in reference to your comment about book clubs—I’m in two book clubs and I cannot tell you how rewarding it is to discuss books which I may have struggled with or those I really enjoyed but wanted to talk about with someone. Both of my clubs are pretty focused on the books, however. I’ve heard of clubs that mostly just visit or eat and barely get to the book discussion. Be picky as you look around for a club. Or, hey, start one yourself. I’d be happy to give you some tips for a successful club. Let me know.
Thank you!
I hope that in the novel the child gets better.
This sounds scary good! I watched a movie similar to this and it creeped me out. Would love to read this.
My Friday 56 from Spiral Of Hooves
You had me at “foster child.” I love stories with these issues….and I’ve been trying to find the book. It is not yet available in the US…but soon, I hope.
Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
Sounds nicely creepy. I haven’t heard of the book or author before. My teasers are from a historical mystery – A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas. Happy reading!
Oh yeah, that last line has myskin crawling a bit. Happy Friday!
Great post! I enjoyed the excerpts very much. Thanks for sharing and for the visit today.
This sounds creepy, but really good! Thanks for sharing! Happy reading! 🙂
Creeptastic 56! Sounds like a fast-paced, edge-of-the-seat read to me! I like those! Happy weekend! x
