Sea captain from a long line of them, Carpus Democritus is swept overboard after a sea battle. He thinks it’s Poseidon come to claim a treasure given to his family years before, but he couldn’t be more mistaken. He’s about to find out to what lengths an angry God will go to reclaim what he considers his property.

Merman son of a sea-witch and the God Poseidon, Hesiod longs for acknowledgement from his father and this assignment will bring him that and more. It will be more than a pleasure to seduce the treasure from this mortal.

An adventure with angry gods, lonely half-gods and arrogant mortals. I found this a poignant tale of people searching for the same thing all of us search for- someone to love and accept us as we are, faults and all. Both the prose and the sex was pretty fantastic.
