Having her last incarnation ended in a most abominable manner by Asmoday, Helen Ammadon has again been reborn. Only this incarnation, her personality is seriously skewed and Bale has his hands full trying to keep her out of trouble. He’s afraid that the manner of her death last time has destroyed any remnant of his Helen, but he’s determined to try everything to find her if possible.

Even as the strongest and King of the Watchers, Bale Ammadon is taken completely by surprise in finding that not only has Helen been reborn, but that she has returned to Dunleavy to take vengeance against the man in her nightmares. Can he heal the woman who is the only one who can make him corporeal?

I find that even beings of immense power are constrained by love to lie by omission to save those that are their world. Family ties, duty, honor, loss ( in many respects) add to the mayhem, destruction and confusion caused by a greed for power. Although the sex was, as always, so erotic as to make me perspire mercilessly, it was the emotional substance of intimacy, passion, and absolute love that made me wish it were real. Hopefully the next one meets the same bar.
