As a mystery and fantasy writer, Sophie Alexander has what some might consider a slight mental failing: she believes in magic. That’s why she’s such good friends with Aislinn Dilessio, who’s the owner of Inner Magick and is also a psychic. Aislinn understands; that’s why she made Sophie the heartmate necklace. She just wasn’t expecting the “mate” who turned up. But Severn won’t deter her from searching for the Dragon’s Cup, no matter how much he’d like to.

Billionaire Dragon Prince Severn Damek wasn’t sure what to expect when he went to Inner Magick seeking help from the half-fey Aislinn Dilessio, but it certainly wasn’t his mate. When he spied the heartmate necklace he knew she recognized him as well. Now he must convince Sophie that he can be trusted to protect her life, even though she insists on putting it in jeopardy while they search for the Dragon’s Cup. There are those who will do anything to keep him from getting the cup.

I must admit that I was wondering if this series would be as good, get better, or what. It did get better. I’m not sure how Ms. Strong continues the growth of the characters without them becoming stale, but she has and the anatomical changes of the shifters from second to first form is captivating. But the most interesting thing is that throughout the entire thing it’s the focus on relationship that gives this series its strength. The fantastic sex doesn’t hurt any either.
