They keep telling him that with a wife in tow he’ll have an assured future. Jack Reed doesn’t want a wife; he wants the man who is his heart. Missing for over a year, Martin has shown up at Jack’s cabin in the woods. After a night of intense loving, Martin disappears again, leaving Jack in despair. A call from the local pound reunites them and sets into motion the plan to find out who’s hunting Martin and why.
Someone in the FBI is a traitor and Martin Winter has paid in unimaginable ways for coming across that information. After more than a year he’s found his way back to the only person he truly trusts. Even then, his amnesia disallows full trust in anyone, even Jack. How to explain he loves, but fears, and doesn’t know why? Now he means to finish the job that caused him to be kidnapped and almost killed.
Two shifters, both wolves. One a beautiful black, the other a smaller sleek silver. Both thinking they are the only one. First friendship, then trust and love—all the things we look for in the one we call mate. I truly enjoyed trying to figure out who the traitor was—even though I was wrong. The plot is a maze of delight, the struggles of Martin to reclaim a part of himself a bit heart-rending and the sex enough to heat a good-sized room. I hope you enjoy.
