I’m reviewing Picturing Prince: An Intimate Portrait by Steve Parke. Forward by Sheila E. Here are my thoughts:
^^ This is a stunning look at the seminal artist through the eyes of his former art director, Steve Parke, which includes lovely insights to Prince’s life via written vignettes and gorgeous photographs.
^^ Fans of Prince (or perhaps those just curious) will love this book, I’m sure. It’s a beautifully designed hardback book.
^^ The stunning front cover has silver writing on a purple background with a colourful picture of Prince above.
^^ The back cover is equally as beautiful, with a black and white Prince photo, and purple theme.
^^ Inside the pictures are amazing. Colourful. Sexy. Intriguing. The photo’s are really well taken, behind-the-scenes peeks, which include rare and long forgotten shots. Plus some are even never seen before images.
Is that Rice Krispies, because it’s giving me a mighty craving. I don’t typically keep coffee table books around, but if I did, I might be intrigued enough to get this one. I’m also really intrigued by said smell. As a devoted book sniffer, I appreciate a good smelling book.
haha! Yes, Rice Krispies. I love ’em! Glad I’m not the only book smeller around lol
