REVIEW: Penguin Classics Notebook and Writers Journal!

I’ve recently started collecting all sorts of “book related” products, and as a notebook and book fiend, this is one spine-tingling, smooth, suave and distinguished “father” of a notepad. For me the cover does it all, since it shows the eight Penguin Classic colour banded spines, and it looks beautiful. This dream notepad also has a ribbon bookmark and a black elastic clasp to keep the notebook closed, which I find keeps the pages together nice and neatly, and therefore enables me to keep the whole book in better condition for longer. It can be used as a diary, too. And if that is not enough, it also comes with a handy inside pocket for all those loose bits of paper we all have a habit of collecting; sticky notes, love letters, receipts, and bookmarks to name but a few. I know I sound crazy, it’s just a lined notepad, but what’s not to like?

Because of this fantastic design, and decent size it would make an ideal present for any book lover. I know. I have one and I still want more. Mine is laid proudly on my home office desk, as though it were a classic book worthy of displaying itself. And it is, in a way. I’d love to flash this one around and show it off, but alas, it is far too precious to even consider the unimaginable horror of being knocked around in the bottom of one of my chock filled bags. Unless I had another one just for that purpose, of course. Now, there’s an idea. Let me just jot that down…
