You’d think being an author would mean more fun in life, right- Wrong! Carol Langley may write romance novels, but she rarely enacts anything she writes about; until she meets her sexy, summer neighbor Tom who awakens parts of her she never knew existed. Apparently, this is only a one-shot affair, though and that hits harder than she thought.

Tom O’Brien has searched for Carol for a long time and now things that started out right have gone very wrong. Mistaken assumptions create a situation that goes from bad to worse in a startlingly short time. Now it’s up to Tom to protect the woman of his destiny from the consequences of her own bad decisions.

I’m always intrigued by new premises of the paranormal realm and this was one of those times. Instead of the usual reworked Vampire theme, Destiny Blaine has worked a new touch of magic into what could have been a bland tale, that entertained, titillated, and simply made you want more. With wit, insight and a new twist, I was kept thoroughly entrenched until the end, waiting to see what would happen next.
