A reverse snob against his own father’s way of life, Michael is in for a shock when he learns after his father’s death that he must work in the very atmosphere he despises or forfeit his inheritance. Can an infuriating young man learn that sometimes to grow you must open not only your mind but your heart?

Son of the heart, Anthony has no time to grieve for the man who took him off the streets and into his home, due to the fact that estranged son, Michael has decided to see what the father he’s rejected left him in his will. Then to find they are stuck with each other adds to the sense of entrapment.

I’ve always wondered why Mr. Manly ends his books the way he does. But it does indeed keep me coming back to read more. This one is no exception in that it’s brutally real in many respects from plot to sex to relationships and how they do and don’t work. A young man with that attitude that he’s better than his father, the adopted son who knows only too well he isn’t, a lifestyle that’s often depicted with satire instead of truth and a story that is filled with not only anger, hurt, confusion and pain, but also with love, temptation, understanding and warmth. I always enjoy Mr. Manly’s work.
