To top it off she was a human female. Protagonists on his home world have exacerbated civil unrest and now he’s wondering if either of them will remain alive to rule.
I thoroughly enjoyed the way this one showed respect and compassion, gentleness, and total love in the interwoven events that make this a tale to keep. One captured, tortured and defenceless female who is shown that sometimes even a male can be vulnerable in love. War, bad nasties, treachery, wow sex and gentle humor make this a well-rounded moving story.
