Having married to give Cate her dream, Lee has never regretted one moment of his life since then. Theirs is a love of best friends who share everything, except sex. Now that Cate is dying, she’s determined to make sure that Lee accepts the love of the man who’s become a part of their family and stop her parents from interfering.
How long dies it take to fall in love? For Lee it was one glance into a pair of mischievous eyes that sent him straight into a place he thought he’d never be. And with Cate’s help he might just be able to accept that it’s truly okay to fall in love with a marvelous man.
With more money than he truly needs, Mike has been finding life just a bit boring; until he looks into the eyes of a man who goes straight to his heart. When he finds out that Lee is married, he’s first full of anger, then curious as to why he would cheat on hid wife- evidently with her permission. When the truth is disclosed, he can do nothing more than step in and learn what love truly is about; being able to put others ahead of your own selfish desires.
Okay, I admit it- this one totally blew me away. To me this is one of the best love stories I’ve read in sooooo long. Ms. Cole has written the ultimate in showing how love makes us all better people when it comes to those we love. I adored Mike, agonized with Lee, laughed with Cate and literally wept at the emotions so skilfully interwoven throughout this story. With an amazing twist at the end this one shows how to love enough to let go. It’s on my top shelf for this one.
