Working for her father, Gina Russo is not happy about meeting the band Pure Wildfire, especially as she believes the lead vocalist is responsible for her stepsister Maria’s death. But issues become areas of gray, once she meets Ryan and gets to know the person inside. Now she has decisions to make and answers to find. If she survives long enough, that is. The attraction she feels for him makes some choices especially hard for her.

As lead vocalist, Ryan Hawthorne has the ability to hold the audience spellbound, but the last five years have been especially hard for the Firebird shifter as his lover’s death has weighed heavily on his mind. There is something that just doesn’t seem right. Now he’s fallen for Maria’s sister Gina and an already complicated affair just became more so. It seems someone is out to get both of them and he must protect Gina or lose her as well.

I liked the first of these novels and Ms. Connolly hasn’t disappointed with this new installment. It’s a “grabber” from the first page with enough plot twists and surprises to make it a page turner you simply can’t put away. With remarkable dexterity she weaves a tale of deceit, love, sinister villains and some incredibly erotic lovemaking. This is a book to keep and re-read.
