Christine Graham had had enough. Her groom’s family had been putting her down since the first day they met, six months ago. She knew the wealthy polished family would never accept her for their son. However, he had never treated her like anything other than equal. Now, just before walking down the isle, his mother Pricilla Rothschild had the audacity to tell her,

“keep your uncouth, backward, redneck genes from showing or I will make you pay for the rest of your miserable days or until I finally pry my precious boy from your filthy claws.”

It was the final straw.

Gray Rothschild knew something was seriously wrong. Even if Christine had somehow fallen out of love with him she would never have walked out minutes before their wedding. He had to find out what was wrong. Deciding she might open up to a stranger he asked his best friend who
she had not met yet to try to talk to her. He arranged it so he was able to listen in.

Keeping things from the one you love in this situation cause an unnecessary situation involving all those who were invited to the happy event. Could it have been avoided with communication? Maybe, but then we would not have been privy to their making up. But the way they made up is definitely worth reading.
