Although she’s lost both parents, had her home and fortune stolen, and been marked as a slave, Alyssa Hawkins has no intention of letting a man—ANY man—have control over her life again. Not even the one who makes her blood and body burn. Although she really has to be careful about those strange fires that seem to break out near her at times when she’s upset.

Little did Prince Xanther know that in trying to recruit help from the Elisaid, he would find not only the aid he needs, but an aggravating, stubborn, headstrong female of his kind that seemed truly meant just for him. Now he must protect his father, destroy those trying to usurp the throne, and convince one young female who knows not her heritage to make her life with him.

I found this a read full of wit, humor, and an amazing insight into the human psyche. I was drawn completely into the world Ms. Lyons created; rooting for the Prince, hoping the villains were discovered in time, but cheering for the resilience of the heroine who had to deal with so much in such a short time. And while the sex was great, it was the way it meshed as a whole that made it work. I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment.
