She’d wanted tougher assignments, but finding a murder wasn’t the way she pictured it happening. Since it put Renata in very close proximity to one Cole Maguire it was going to be even harder to concentrate on her job. It was bad enough that she’d been lusting after him for months, now she has to work with him, too. Add in that she’s black, he’s white and the problems just keep mounting. But maybe she’ll still be able to simply walk away.

Having usually regarded women as easy, cheap and a quick shuffle to get rid of, Cole is absolutely terrified by how easily Renata Reynolds has wormed her way under his skin, into his thoughts and apparently into control of his libido, so to speak. When she discovers a murder, he gets to solve the case, she gets to write about it and they get to work together- very closely together. Cole is gambling on the fact that this is no different than any other attraction he’s had in the past.

Plenty of suspects, good old-fashioned humor, keen insight and understanding of human nature, tense drama interwoven into a strong family oriented plot line gives this suspense a fluidity that makes you just keep reading to the very end. The close relationship of each family member lends strength and realism to each character while allowing for such a magnificent humorous slant that you simply fall in love with them all. Oh, and lets not forget some really hot, scorching sex just to keep it relatively spicy (if you get my drift).
