Ben was a retired Navy Seal. He had just help his friend Jake and Cree take care of some ugly business in order to protect the love of their life and he had a hankering for a commitment himself. He had never really had somewhere to call home so buying half of Kate Crawford ranch was a start.

Kate had been having hard times but simply was not ready to let go of her parents dream and legacy even if it meant she worked herself to death. With Ben buying half and splitting the work load maybe they could both have what they wanted, a place to call home. But would it work out?

Ben was already interested in more from Kate, but Kate was desperately afraid of Ben. It was not only his shear size but sometime she saw a wildness in him made her want to run.

The second book is as good as the first, Branded by Gold. The Seal budddies figure prominently in this book as well and it was wonderful to see yet another of that close knit group find a homecoming and acceptance he longed for. It really grips the heart when fears are overcome by love and in this story it takes the breath away. Wonderfully done again and there is still more to come.
