Calliope had a problem with her magic. In the past twenty-three years she had learned to live with her problem, even when she was seven and cast a sleeping spell on a friend as a gift for her sixteenth birthday. The spell was supposed to grant her a peaceful sanctuary. Instead, it put her to sleep, waiting for a prince to fall in love with her. The spell worked on the entire castle and made it difficult to even get close to the sleeping beauty, Rosamund. Now, Calliope was locked in a dungeon and feared to use her magic to get herself out of this mess.

When the King returned and sought her out she had just given up and cast a spell that would set her free. King Aaron found her in a miserable state in the dungeon but even then he was drawn to her beauty in a most interesting way. Later he would assume he had been spelled but he needed her help to rescue his brother Johann, who was even now trying to free the sleeping Rosamund. He had not been heard from in a very long time and King Aaron assumed misfortune had fallen on him. Maybe Calliope could assist in some magical way to finally end the spell, or at least rescue his brother.

On a quest to change the fate of Rosamund and rescue Prince Johann, King Aaron and Calliope will battle the forces of the enchanted castle and they may battle each other as well. Should they fall in love instead of just lusting after one another, would it be because of the spell she cast for her freedom? This is a joyous and funny fairy tale to be sure, but it has wonderful passion as well. The Perfectly Wicked series continues on this fine note, thanks for the laughs.
