Dragon-humans, interconnected in the same body are strong, powerful, magical, immortal and are the centre of this story. Black dragons serve as rulers and the Opal dragons serve as the oracles. Rarely did the two interact but the prophesy foretold that the mating of black and opal would change the world for dragons and humans.

“The first pairing, unwanted by either dragon, predicted the downfall of ancient ways. The second coupling, wanted by both humans, foretold of the rise of new beginnings. The third union, a bond of love an respect, in both forms, prophesied a final healing as the two greatest bloods united.”

I will say that the story starts out a little slow and confusing with the prophecy and the forward leaps in time. The story presents an interesting phenomena, in that although they are shape-shifter beings they have different names and personalities in their different forms, as much separate as together. Once the main characters are introduced the story stays captivating, and the earlier events fall into place.

There is love for a lifetime, an immortal lifetime that kindles the desire in all of us to find someone who completes us so. The physical aspect of the love relationship is magical and the emotional bond born of respect is what tugs at the heart, especially since they were
destined to be enemies. Of course good triumphs over evil, love conquers hate, and there is a happily ever after, what more could anyone ask of a romance.
