The Magical Secret of the Crystal Kingdom: A Fantasy World of Unicorns, Dragons and other Magical Animals

by P.S. Nicholls (Goodreads Author)

To everyone else Rose Jones, aged thirteen is just an ordinary girl from an ordinary family but to those who know her best she has a remarkable ability. She has vivid dreams that come true. Whilst on holiday, staying in a house that she has always dreamed of with her adoptive family, Rose, her younger brother George and her friends, discover a collection of crystals hidden in a cave in the woods. Later that night the crystals turn out to have magical powers that not only transport them into a strange crystal-like world full of talking lions and flying horses, but also transform the children into different magical animals and mythical creatures themselves.

Now separated from each other in this strange world that the animals call Velaro Fore, the children each discover that the creatures are at war with the remaining evil Queen Maura who, through fear, controls most of the remaining animals as she awaits in anticipation the return of her husband, evil King Nerrez who fled the land years before in pursuit of the true King Abner and his pregnant Queen Alva, to try and destroy them.

Undeterred by Maura and Nerrez a small group of animals have remained loyal to the true King and Queen and they are now convinced that Rose’s presence means the imminent return of their true rulers and that Rose has a significant part to play in making this happen. When Rose transforms again before their eyes from a horse into a flying unicorn it seems as though having vivid dreams is not her only special ability and the animal leaders turn to her for guidance.

They must now figure out how to get the crystals that they found in the cave into Velaro Fore before Nerrez tracks them down. If Nerrez finds the crystals before they do he will become too powerful for them to stop him and it will be the end, not only of the Crystal Kingdom but for all of them too! Rose now needs to find an inner strength that she didn’t know existed but as she gradually starts to believe in herself she discovers the magical secret that could save the crystal kingdom.

MUSIC MONDAY

I’ve also chosen to cross post my Monday “Movie” Book Trailer Swap with the lovely lady Lauren @AlwaysMe (blog) Drew @The Tattooed Book Geek (blog) @SarcasticEnigma (Twitter) and musical maestro Mischenko @readrantrockandroll.com (blog) @J_Mischenko (Twitter). Here are the rules:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately.  It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favourites – just something you’d like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

When I asked Paul Nicholls to share one of his favourite songs, this was his first choice:

Check out past Monday Movie posts and all the great trailers already shared here. Indie authors are more than welcome!

Happy Monday! Let’s have fun and get through Mondays together!

    1. I’ve enjoyed their music for quite some time now, and go through stages where I revisit their songs regularly and love them all over again lol

  1. fuonlyknew – Voracious reader and love to do reviews. Will review yours! Love Doritos and chocolate. A fan of furry friends. I'm afraid of things that go bump in the night! I do reviews at request when time allows. Prefer print versions but also will do ebooks. If I can stand to let them go, I use some print review copies for giveaways.. Also like doing ARC reviews to promote authors and their books. I encourage authors to comment. My reviews are posted on my blog, Amazon, Goodreads, Shelfari, Smashwords and Barnes&Noble.

I have the ebook and will be sharing a review on my Kid’s Korner feature. This is such a fun, clever idea. I’ll be hopping over to check it out.
