Waiting on Wednesday / Can’t Wait Wednesday
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, and my version is a mix of what I’m waiting to read, whether it’s a new release that is not out yet, or an older book on my TBR shelf, which I really want to read but haven’t got around to it yet.
Here’s my ‘Can’t wait to read’ book for this week:
Blood Cruise: A thrilling summer chiller from the Swedish Stephen King
‘I will never set foot on a cruise ship again!’ – Åsa Larsson, bestselling author of The Second Deadly Sin and Until thy Wrath Be Past
On the Baltic Sea, no one can hear you scream.
Tonight, twelve hundred expectant passengers have joined the booze-cruise between Sweden and Finland. The creaking old ship travels this same route, back and forth, every day of the year.
But this trip is going to be different.
In the middle of the night the ferry is suddenly cut off from the outside world. There is nowhere to escape. There is no way to contact the mainland. And no one knows who they can trust.
Welcome aboard the Baltic Charisma.
‘Blood Cruise is terrifying and terrifying real, a must-read for fans of Stephen King and John Ajvide Lindqvist’ – Elizabeth Hand, author of Generation Loss and Hard Light
The Kindle version is actually available in the UK, but the hardcover comes out in July 12th.
My Thoughts
Well, I’ve never been on a cruise ship and I’m not looking likely to go on one in the near future, so I think I’m safe to read this!
I know this is not going to be to everyone’s liking, it is after all a horror based thriller, but this is just the sort of book I love. If it turns out to be as scary as it looks. Only time will tell.
Incidentally, this is on Goodreads as a fantasy, young adult book. Until I read it, I’m not sure if that needs changing.
Anyway, I’m excited for this. Very. I cannot wait to read, and tell you all about it! Imagine being called a Swedish Stephen King. I’ve certainly got high hopes for this book, for that reason alone. Also, his bio is quite convincing…

This one is already on my ereader-it sounds like it could be my kind of read, as long as it doesn’t take ages to get into the story.
Hope you read it soon! I’m interested to see what you think!
How have I not seen this one before?! It sounds really good!
Fantastic news! Hope you get to read it 🙂
Oh my gosh that cover- that makes me want to read it! Although yeah it will probably turn me off to cruises lol!
lol it does. It reminds me of The Shining’s Lift 😉
Ohh wow, great pick what a creepy and scary book cover I never been on a cruise ship either and I am also not planning on going to a cruise in the near future as well. I am very intrigued and curious to check this book out when it comes out because it looks and sounds like my kind of book. I hope you enjoy it when it comes out.
