Waiting on Wednesday / Can’t Wait Wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, and my version is a mix of what I’m waiting to read, whether it’s a new release that is not out yet, or an older book on my TBR shelf, which I really want to read but haven’t got around to it yet.

Here’s my ‘Can’t wait to read’, book for this week:

Book details

Malamander (The Legends of Eerie-on-Sea) Paperback – 2 May 2019

Nobody visits Eerie-on-Sea in the winter. Especially not when darkness falls and the wind howls around Maw Rocks and the wreck of the battleship Leviathan, where even now some swear they have seen the unctuous Malamander creep…

Herbert Lemon, Lost-and-Founder at the Grand Nautilus Hotel, knows that returning lost things to their rightful owners is not easy – especially when the lost thing is not a thing at all, but a girl. No one knows what happened to Violet Parma’s parents twelve years ago, and when she engages Herbie to help her find them, the pair discover that their disappearance might have something to do with the legendary sea-monster, the Malamander. Eerie-on-Sea has always been a mysteriously chilling place, where strange stories seem to wash up. And it just got stranger…

What have you been wanting to read?

Despite this being a middle grade book, I love the sound of a world that has mermonkeys, monsters and magic! Plus it has a very ‘Lemony Snicket’ feel to it, which I am currently reading! So I am very intrigued with Malamander.

By the way, I’ve just snapped this picture of my back garden (at the time of writing this – Tuesday evening). It’s just started snowing here in Cambridge!!! I love the snow. Yes, I really am a big kid at heart lol  My dog is not quiet sure what to think of it all.

Excuse the dead tree… that died after the Summer heatwave we had, and no one wants to tackle it yet lol.

Is this on your TBR or have you already read it? What your ‘Can’t wait for’ book? Do let me know in the comments below. Thank you!

    1. I’m positive I’ve released this comment before? LOL So sorry for taking so long. I’ve been checking to see if there’s a way to automatically allow you to post, but it seems not. Oddly. I thought once everyone posted a comment once, the rest were automatically allowed…

  4. I don’t read many middle grades books, but this one does sound good. I like the cover too. And love the pic of your dog. Hope you enjoy the book when you get to it! Thanks for coming by my WoW.

  5. Books In Bloom – I am an avid reader and love most all books, but my favorite genres tend to be adventure, mystery, science fiction and classics. Genres I tend to shy away from include romance, contemporary fiction and chick lit. If I’m not actually reading books, I’m probably at work shelving them because I work at my local library.
