Waiting on Wednesday / Can’t Wait Wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, and my version is a mix of what I’m waiting to read, whether it’s a new release that is not out yet, or an older book on my TBR shelf, which I really want to read but haven’t got around to it yet.

First thoughts

What have you been wanting to read?

I have NEVER read any of these books by this author, so it might be weird to start now (on book 13) so I will take that into consideration when I read it. After all, that’s my fault, right? lol

However, I’m still looking forward to reading this series and if I don’t start now, when will I? Got to fit them in when I can, right?  I’ve got book 1 in my shopping basket as we speak…

Would YOU ever start a series half way through or even later? (Like book 13)?

Is this on your TBR or have you already read it? What your ‘Can’t wait for’ book? Do let me know in the comments below. Thank you!

  1. You are brave. I have started a series partway through on numerous occasions and sometimes regretted it because I was so lost, but other times, had no problems. This book does sound good, so I hope it works out for you.

    1. I would start a series at book 13, yes! Books seem to be enough of a new story in each one that I think I could understand where the story was going. If I liked it enough I would want to get the rest of the series though. Hope you enjoy this one.

      1. Thank you, Deanne!

Yes I agree with you! If I hadn’t got anything else to read I’d start all new series I fancied from the very first one!

At least this way I can also keep an eye out for any future books by the same author – if I like this one. 😉

  2. Book 13!! I have started books like these partway through the series before. Sometimes they can be read without previous knowledge, even if some of the connections to the characters might be lost on me a little. I hope that you do enjoy it! It sounds fantastic. 🙂

  3. I’ve read all the Geraldine Steel Books by Leigh Russell, plus others besides and have never been disappointed. Apart from the excellence of Leigh’s writing, the stories are all stand alone and, although there is sometimes reference to detail mentioned in earlier books, this will not affect the enjoyment of whichever book in the series you are currently reading. Series by other authors may not be as beneficial and it may be that the books need to be read in order.

  4. I would definitely start a series mid- stream if the book looked promising enough. Hope this is good! Also, Wilder Girls is my next read too!

  5. This does sound good! I haven’t tried this series either. I prefer to read series books in order, but book blogging has made me a bit more flexible. It really depends on the type of series and how much each book relies on the other. Happy Reading!
