Sassy Brit : Can you, for those who don’t know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
Carla Day : I became interested in writing at the age of thirty, after my son was born, although I’ve always been a storyteller and daydreamer. It used to get me in trouble at school. When I was a kid, I used to imagine all sorts of crazy things and sketch them and jot them down, not really knowing when I would ever use them.
They came in handy when I started writing seriously. I believe I was born to be a writer.
SB : Where did you grow up?
CD : Leicestershire, in a village with its own castle. I had a magical childhood.

SB : As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
CD ; Most definitely a Peacock.

SB : What is something unique/quirky about you?
CD : I love to sit in cafes and listen to conversations and to people watch. It’s great research. All kinds of people end up in my stories. Just look out for the woman with a notebook and pen and mischievous look in her eye, when you are at a coffee shop, it could be me. That sounds weird writing it down!
SB : Tell us something really interesting that’s happened to you?
CD : I once got caught having a pee behind a bush at a music festival as a double decker bus went by full of party goers shouting…well, you can imagine.
SB : What are some of your pet peeves?
CD : I hate when people in literary circles tell you to try emulate another writer to get noticed. I think my voice is unique enough. I wouldn’t want to emulate anyone else. In fact, I try not to read the genre I write too much for fear of adapting a style that’s not mine.
THANK YOU!!!
the people who you love and trust the most, aren’t who they say they
are?Meet Rosie Morgan. After news of her husband’s fatal car crash,
Rosie learns of his secret life. A life that will put her in the path
of a sinister nightmare and The Whistler. As Rosie’s dreams of the
whistling man become more real, she will stop at nothing to figure
out his identity. While searching, a dark doorway opens to her
childhood, where more secrets unravel, leaving her questioning who
she really is.Will she find out what The Whistler wants before it is
too late? Or will her past catch up to her? Who is Rosie Morgan?
She moved from place to place, not really settling anywhere for any
length of time but collecting life stories along the way, which she
would one day pen, on a weather-beaten log in Wales, with her dog by
her side.
