My First Thoughts:

I’m just over halfway through this and I must say I am thoroughly enjoying my first foray into British Brit Grit crime drama, which as the genre suggests is a ‘gritty, crime, horror-filled, drama’ very much with a style of its own. The main character, Brad, can’t do anything right. Yet in his own way, everything he tries to do is for the best. But mistakes (like lies) have a habit of snowballing and this story follows him as he makes one mistake after another, getting himself deeper and deeper into trouble! In many respects it’s both hilarious and gruesome at the same time. If you like crime, thrillers you should try this noir, Brit Grit book, Manchester Vice.  Full review coming soon…

  1. I have not read anything by this author but I have to admit that I absolutely loved the first page. I do find British authors to be quite different in pacing, voice and dry wit than American authors – a good change of point of view for someone who reads a lot. This sounds like a really good choice. Here’s my Friday meme
