My First Thoughts:
I’m just over halfway through this and I must say I am thoroughly enjoying my first foray into British Brit Grit crime drama, which as the genre suggests is a ‘gritty, crime, horror-filled, drama’ very much with a style of its own. The main character, Brad, can’t do anything right. Yet in his own way, everything he tries to do is for the best. But mistakes (like lies) have a habit of snowballing and this story follows him as he makes one mistake after another, getting himself deeper and deeper into trouble! In many respects it’s both hilarious and gruesome at the same time. If you like crime, thrillers you should try this noir, Brit Grit book, Manchester Vice. Full review coming soon…

So what did you think of my choice? What are you reading today?
How chilling that an “ordinary” person could turn into a stone cold killer. The journey must be interesting. Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “BEST DAY EVER”
Yes! I suppose we all start off ordinary to a point lol
Ooooh! I want to know more! How did this character go from Point A to Point B? Thanks for sharing Sassy. Excellent choice!
Jo-Ann
Thanks, Jo-Ann! 😉
This book is new to me. It does sound like a gritty thriller. I hope you enjoy it. This week I have A Merciful Secret by Kendra Elliot – one from my review stack. Happy reading!
Thank you, Kathy! I am enjoying it ! 😉
I have not read anything by this author but I have to admit that I absolutely loved the first page. I do find British authors to be quite different in pacing, voice and dry wit than American authors – a good change of point of view for someone who reads a lot. This sounds like a really good choice. Here’s my Friday meme
Hi Maria!
So pleased you like the sound of it. Yes, this author has a Brit Grit style, really fitting with this genre. Hope you get to read it while it’s on offer! 😉
Like the opening paragraphs because they just beg the reader to continue.
Hi Catherine,
That’s what made me realise straight away, I was going to enjoy this! You really need to know more, and that makes for a great read.
This sounds like a great one! That first page has really piqued my curiosity! Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Thank you! Enjoy your weekend, too, Ashley!
This book sounds right up my alley!! 🙂 I added you to the Linky. Happy weekend!
Thank you! That’s very nice of you! Much appreciated.
Well, it’s on offer this week, so… if you want it to read later… ? 😉 Have a lovely weekend, too!
Wow. The beginning is something else. Make’s me want to know what changed for him! Thanks for sharing, and thank you for stopping by my blog!
Hi Lisa! You’re welcome. Yes, I love the beginning, too!
Wow!! That beginning has me needing to know more about what happened! Sounds like a really fast-paced thriller. I hope that you enjoy it. 🙂
I am! 😉
Wow! That excerpt hooked me quick. Sounds like something I’d enjoy too. I’m always looking for a new gritty thriller.
It would be lovely for you to come and join us over at Goodreads! Grab it now whilst it’s still on offer anyway! 😉
Attack an innocent man? I’m fearful, but then there’s that line about not having an available weapon and I’m suddenly intrigued. I hope you enjoy your weekend!
He’s a bumbling soul, but quick to learn from his mistakes lol
That’s a cool opening. I’m guessing it’s too grisly for my tastes, but that does hook you. And who is Jim Kennedy?!
Yep, it does hook you in, and it’s very grisly in places. 😉
This sounds really good. Lots of action.
Thanks, Yvonne!
I like the cover. And this books looks pretty good from your snippets. Hope you are enjoying it.
Thank you! Yep, I am 😉
Love the sound of this one. Not a genre I know a lot about, but definitely captures my attention. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks, Cheryl!
