In the past I have played all sorts of April Fools Jokes, but this year with the virus going round it feels kind of blah, and maybe a bit mean considering! So today I thought I’d introduce you to #CampNaNoWriMo, which is similar to National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) usually in November, but for the months of April and July. It’s for people who can’t wait another year for November to come round, and for people like me who like to use it as a chance to reach one of their goals.
You don’t have to write a novel!
I am using this to write 30 reviews, a review a day. Not reading them, just writing them up! I might not post those reviews on the day I write them, but I will have 30 reviews done sooner, rather than later!
For the sake of the goal I am averaging 500 words per review I write. My goal is more about getting them done, than writing 50,000 words! *The standard goal for most writers planning a novel over there*
Did you know kids can join in too? If you are at home with them now, and you’d like to dabble at writing your own story, and give your kids something fun to do too, now is your chance! This is the perfect activity to do something you’ve probably never thought of before, or maybe you have – and with more time on your hands, could this be your chance to finally get that book you’ve always dreamed of writing actually written?
What’s more, you will not be doing it alone, but with thousands of people! Add me as your friend here! You do have to sign in and make an account, but you can then start writing, chat in the forums, and even create your own ‘camp’ with other writers! I find it a lot of fun, and if this is your sort of thing, I am positive you will too!

I never thought of participating in this as a way to inspire yourself to write more reviews, but I think that’s fabulous! I love that idea! It’s always nice to have extra reviews written for when you need them. I decided not to sign up for Camp NaNo, because I forgot to sign up ahead of time, but I’m just jumping in all the writing sprints and enjoying writing along with people, regardless. xD Best of luck with your goal this month!
