“What’s  on your desk, Wednesday?”

Naturally, you see my computer. Currently on the monitor is the book I’m writing, which is a Regency romance series inspired by classic ‘80s movies. The series is titled The Union of the Rakes. *g*

There are stacks of research books, including several volumes on herpetology, since the heroine I’m writing is a herpetologist. Somehow, I always manage to pick topics related to my books which I know almost nothing about. Maybe it’s an excuse to learn new things.

Headphones—because I always listen to music when I write. Often from the ‘80s (see above regarding my new series).

My planner and a notebook, which are essential for me to keep on schedule and retain stuff related to my books. P.S. Collecting washi tape and stickers is a surefire way to addiction.

Of course, my cats, Phantom (the grey cat) and Whiskey (the tabby). Often found on either my desk or my husband’s when we’re working.

I used to live in Los Angeles, which is my home town, and my home office view was of the next door condominium’s wall. Since then, I have moved about two hours north in Santa Barbara County’s wine country, and I adore my office’s view. We have a gorgeous maple tree that currently houses a woodpecker’s young family, plus a good-sized juniper bush that hides the street. I’m phenomenally lucky to have this view.

SB: How would you describe your writing routine?

I always get up with an alarm, and then do some morning puttering (I think Brits call it “faffing” *g*) before breakfast, then it’s off to my desk and writing. I always listen to music when I write, so I wear headphones (my husband is Nico Rosso, and is also a romance author, so I don’t want to disturb him as he works). There’s almost always a cat on my desk. Throughout the day, I try to get in a few walks or, if I’m being disciplined, go to the gym, as I work. I wish I could say I did something truly exciting, like using a zip line to get to my desk, but it’s quite mundane. The exciting stuff happens in my head.

SB: If you could write a book with anyone in the world, who would you choose?

I’d just let Tolstoy do all the work, and I’d be intimidated by Jane Austen, but P.G. Wodehouse would be an awful lot of fun to collaborate with.

SB: Where can we find out more about you and your work?

A bunch of places!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Counting on a Countess: The most outrageous Regency romance of 2019 that fans of Vanity Fair and Poldark will adore by Eva Leigh (Author)

‘Delightful banter and delicious passion…simply divine’, New York Times bestselling author Tessa Dare

The Scandalous Ladies of London series returns for book two with the ultimate Regency romance for 2019.

For a shameless libertine and a wily smuggler in the London Underground, marriage is more than convenience—it’s strategy . . .

Christopher “Kit” Ellingsworth, war veteran and newly minted Earl of Blakemere, buries his demons under every sort of pleasure and vice. His scandalous ways have all but emptied his coffers . . . until a wealthy mentor leaves him a sizeable fortune. The only stipulation? He must marry within one month to inherit the money. Kit needs a bride and the bold, mysterious Miss Tamsyn Pearce seems perfect.

Husband hunting isn’t Tamsyn’s top priority—she’s in London to sell her new shipment of illicit goods—but she’s desperate for funds . When a handsome earl offers to wed her and send her back to Cornwall with a hefty allowance, Tamsyn agrees.

But when an unexpected proviso in the will grants Tamsyn control of the inheritance, their arrangement becomes anything but convenient. Now, Kit’s counting on his countess to make his wildest dreams a reality and he plans to convince her, one pleasurable seduction at a time…
