Hopefully, above, you can actually see my Instagram pictures!
Just in case you can’t see beyond the first photo, here’s the Friday 56 sentence below:
MY FIRST THOUGHTS
Vicki Fitzgerald has a way with words, and from what I have read on the first page, Briguella sounds like a gritty, realistic one. And it should be. Fun fact… (Sheldon style)
Vicki even went to a morgue to do some research for this book!!
Okay, so my first thoughts section is short today, as I’ve not got very far into this book yet, but I can tell it’s going to be good if it carries on the way it is…
Here’s more about the book from Goodreads:
Briguella
by
After seven women fall victim to a serial killer, journalist Kate Rivendale becomes embroiled in the manhunt. The authorities have no suspect, only one forensic link dating way back to the 1930s.
Detective Chief Inspector William Beckley needs to salvage his career; he has too many deaths on his conscience. Beckley entices Kate to go undercover, a decision which backfires with devastating consequences.
While DCI Beckley reaches a horrifying conclusion about the murderer Kate enters a desperate fight for her life… while battling to keep her own secrets buried.

HI !! Yes, it is… you’re welcome, thank you for stopping by, too!
That is one terrifying beginning… I hope they catch the killer in the end! 🙂
Ronnie @ Paradise Found
Hi Ronnie!
So do i… but that could be the twist lol
Learned a new word – abattoir. Beckley has too many deaths on his conscience and he sends her undercover? Nothing going to go wrong there.
lol no, you’re right, nothing at all 🙂 Thanks for popping by, Roberta!
That opening sentence is so bad it is almost good, if you catch my meaning. Have fun with the book. My Friday Quotes
I do! In a good way… 🙂 Thank you. I am sure I will.
I hope you are enjoying this one. I like the idea of giving some publicity to new or independent authors. This week I have a thriller – What You Want to See by Kristen Lepionka. Happy reading!
Yes! I am enjoying it very much, thank you!
Hope you end up loving it. I haven’t read this one but I’m adding. Right now I’m reading too many books! Enjoy, Sassy. ❤💜❤
I totally understand! But glad to hear you’re adding it anyway… 🙂
Ooh that one sounds good! And terrifying at the same time. But in a good way… Lol
I know what you mean, yes! I thought the same! 🙂
While the cover is really well done, it would have spooked me away from this book. I’d love for you and your readers to check out THE UNINVITED CORPSE . . . https://www.facebook.com/elleryadamswritesmysteries/
Thanks Lisa, I will take a look! 🙂
It seems like the character ended up in a scary situation. Enjoy your current read!
Thanks Breana! Yes, I’m keen to find out what happened to her.
Ooh, that’s such a chilling beginning! Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂
It is, very chilling. Unlike here in the UK, during a bizarre heatwave!
The beginning, which I like, is 4 days after my birthday. And the 56, which I also like, is 3 days before my mums. 🙂 Happy weekend!
Spooky! But nice!! 🙂 I actually love it when I see my birthday mentioned in a book. too .
Thanks, have a lovely weekend yourself x
Oh my gosh, she certainly does have a way with words! Wow, that beginning, and it sounds like an amazing story!
Jo-Ann at Inspiration Pie

Hope you’ll continue enjoying it. Happy Reading!
Thank you, Nicki! You, too!
I hope you are enjoying this one. It has such a gruesome beginning – I hope Kate survives!!
This sounds so intriguing! Have a good weekend 🙂
