I’ve admitted in interviews that Final Fantasy computer games led to my interest in Norse mythology. I love RPGs but there’s always the worry that someone might say ‘Humph, I don’t want to read a book inspired by a video game…’QUESTION: Do you have a secret ‘muse’ or ‘inspiration’, one which you would be a little embarrassed about admitting when interviewed about your book (or future book!) or that you feel may affect people’s perception of your book?
