What’s on your desk, Wednesday? Dee. S Knight has somebody else’s glasses… #AuthorSpotlight #Interview with @deesknight

Hey Bibliomaniacs,

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for my weekly spotlight features, “What’s on your desk, Wednesday?”, where we take a visit to see what’s on somebody’s desk and have a good old nose around. (No kidding!) So without further ado, let’s meet today’s desk, I mean guest…

Welcome to where stories are created, from the desk of author Dee S. Knight

Sassy Brit : Tell us about your writing routine:

Dee S. Knight : Writing routine: Sadly, my writing routine is not really what I would call a “routine.” It’s a “write-as-when-you-feel-like-it routine. I write lots of blogs here at THE desk, with the magical two big screens—which means I can have bigger Solitaire windows—but for books and short stories I often head to the reclining sofa so I can put my feet up. For that, I have a small laptop connected to the TV. Of course, there I have to increase the size of the Word window so I can see what I’m typing! It’s a trade-off: squinting at the TV or having swollen feet at the desktop. Either way, needs must and some writing gets done. Eventually.

SB: What’s the weirdest thing on your desk?

DSK: Weirdest thing on the desk: I think the bifocals are the strangest thing because I have no idea to whom they belong. I think they might be reading glasses for the computer but it’s been a while since I wore bifocals and I don’t think hubby ever did, so…whose are they? We don’t toss them out because maybe one of us might need them someday.

SB: The most useful item?

DSK: The most useful item: Obviously one of us thinks pens are the most useful item ever because we have 10 sitting ready for use and in case that’s not enough we have a whole box! If the need should ever arise to sign something at the desk, we stand ready with PENS!

SB : Three words to describe your desk?

DSK: Three words to describe: Scout: Be Prepared! We have batteries off to the side, Puffs tissues, cough drops, a mouse AND a trackball, two sets of reading glasses, the aforementioned pens, additional connection wires, and an electric online dictionary. What else could I possibly need??

We also have a server that hubby mostly uses. The server desk, our cutie screen cleaners, and our fast as H**L computer user. (See images below!)

SB: Where can we find out more about you?

DSKMore about me and my books: A few years ago, Dee S. Knight began writing, making getting up in the morning fun. During the day, her characters killed people, fell in love, became drunk with power, or sober with responsibility. And they had sex, lots of sex. Writing was so much fun Dee decided to keep at it. That’s how she spends her days. Her nights? Well, she’s lucky that her dream man, childhood sweetheart, and long-time hubby are all the same guy, and nights are their secret. Only a Good Man Will Do
Book 1 of the Good Man Series

Seriously ambitious man seeks woman to encourage his goals, support his (hopeful) position as Headmaster of Westover Academy, and be purer than Caesar’s wife. Good luck with that!

Daniel Goodman is a man on a mission. He aims to become headmaster of Westover Academy. For that he needs a particular, special woman to help him set high standards. Into his cut and dried life of moral and upright behavior, comes Eve Star, formerly one of Europe’s foremost exotic dancers. Her life is anything but cut and dried, black and white. Daniel is drawn to her like a kid to chocolate. Nothing good can come of this attraction. Or can it? He is after all, a good man.

    1. Alice, I guess they are mine. Hubby says he never wore bifocals, the braggart! But when I got them or why they’re sitting out here is a mystery.

  1. Dee,
Those computer screens are to die for. Love the mystery bifocals and of course your sexy novels.

    1. We didn’t have wonderful screens like these until our computer died in January. We bought up, lol!

  2. Loved Only A Good Man Will Do. Got a little crush on Mr. prim and proper Daniel. P.S. I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one that doesn’t have a set writing routine. I write when I feel like it as well. That can be 5 hours one day and no hours the next. Lol

    1. I love finding out about authors writing routines, but if they have no routine (which many don’t) it’s just as fun to see ‘how the work gets done’ even if it’s ‘eventually’. 🙂

    2. What I’ve discovered, Suzanne, is that when the “no hours the next” takes over the “five hours one day” you’re in trouble! Keep writing!!
