HoPPY GOOD FRIDAY!
Well, we’re certainly moving down the slippery slope with UNFORTUNATE FRIDAY and this week’s Book Beginning and Friday56 choice…
Continuing with my ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ Friday Theme (here’s last Friday’s post) I am now on to the next book in the series…
Why? I received the lovely book The Incomplete History of Secret Organizations by Joe Tracz (book pictured above) to review and realised I just had to watch the Netflix TV series, which I am now doing, at the same time as reading all the books!
So without further ado… I present…
The Slippery Slope
(A Series of Unfortunate Events Book 10)
by Lemony Snicket and Brett Helquist
UK READERS: Check out the series here! (New versions!)
My First Thoughts?
Down the slippery slope could be a bad omen for this book, since it implies the unfortunate event of this series declining.
Unfortunately for me, I have not read this book yet, I am about to start it. But will the tenth book keep me happy as Larry, or will I keep my own name and stay Sassy?
This edition promises to be a snowy experience with a harrowing journey of extra slipperiness featuring a secret message, a toboggan and a swarm of snow gnats. What more could you ask for?
Perhaps a surprising survivor of a terrible fire? Now, who could that be?
*Winks and taps the side of my nose in a conspiratorial fashion*
Like bad smells, uninvited weekend guests or very old eggs, there are some things that ought to be avoided.
Snicket’s saga about the charming, intelligent, and grossly unlucky Baudelaire orphans continues to alarm its distressed and suspicious fans the world over. The tenth book in this outrageous publishing effort features more than the usual dose of distressing details, such as snow gnats, an organised troupe of youngsters, an evil villain with a dastardly plan, a secret headquarters and some dangerous antics you should not try at home. With the weather turning colder, this is one chilling book you would be better off without.
Are you unlucky enough to own all 13 adventures? Yep, I am going to
bore you share my Lemony Snicket love and devotion — ten more times! You lucky things, you! If you don’t want to read them all by then, well, I give up! lol

Lemony Snicket was born before you were and is likely to die before you as well. He was born in a small town where the inhabitants were suspicious and prone to riot. He grew up near the sea and currently lives beneath it. Until recently, he was living somewhere else.
Brett Helquist was born in Ganado, Arizona, grew up in Orem, Utah, and now lives in New York City. He earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Brigham Young University and has been illustrating ever since. His art has appeared in many publications, including Cricket magazine and The New York Times.
HAVE YOU READ THIS SERIES?
I can’t wait to visit your blogs to find out. Have a great weekend, may your books be with you!
Luv Sassy X
