What does it feel like to find out you’ve been set up to become the
pawn of an evil who’s only goal is to destroy you and keep the soul
of another imprisoned? Ask Tristan Pryce, who’s about to find out that menace has meanings never put into a dictionary. Instead of the happy experience of a lifetime, it’s the highway to hell not only for him, but the entire group who were there to catalogue the home. Who is Sara and why does she talk to him? Why does she call him Quentin? He’s not this Quentin- at least not this time.
Thought to be mentally insane, Jake Bauman has powers not everyone believes in; including his own family. He’s been at odds with his cousin Catherine for longer than he can remember, but the biggest bone of contention between them right now is Tristan. The only person who believes he’s not crazy is his grandfather and leader of this little expedition, Robert Bauman. But Jake is the only person who can save Tristan from the evil waiting to destroy him, and this time he’s determined not to fail.
This is one really cool book! I had a ball keeping the cast straight in my mind. There’s ghosts, demons, non-believers, possessions, an entire time-line that is amazing in the discoveries made and a house that virtually lives with the spirits residing within. The twists and turns this book takes kept me glued to the pages and I enjoyed it immensely although I wasn’t even close when it came to the actual “living” accomplice.
