WHITE BODIES by Jane Robins
Book Beginnings:
With Gilion Dumas of RoseCityReader @GilionDumas
Friday 56: (Instagram Post)
With Fredasvoice @fredalicious and on Instagram as @fredasphotos #Friday56
Hopefully, above, you can actually see my Instagram pictures! On Instagram you have to swipe to see all the pictures, since I clumped together both my Book Beginnings and Friday56 posts.
Just in case you can’t see beyond the first photo, here’s the Friday 56 sentence below:
My First Thoughts:
I found the first few sentences really intriguing, instantly I need to know what is going on! I must admit, my #Friday56 doesn’t actually sound that riveting, but that last sentence? Something has definitely gone on… and I’m intrigued as hell to find out what!
WHITE BODIES
By Jane Robins
BLURB:
Felix and Tilda seem like the perfect couple: young and in love, a financier and a beautiful up-and-coming starlet. But behind their flawless façade, not everything is as it seems.
Callie, Tilda’s unassuming twin, has watched her sister visibly shrink under Felix’s domineering love. She has looked on silently as Tilda stopped working, nearly stopped eating, and turned into a neat freak, with mugs wrapped in Saran Wrap and suspicious syringes hidden in the bathroom trash. She knows about Felix’s uncontrollable rages, and has seen the bruises on the white skin of her sister’s arms.
Worried about the psychological hold that Felix seems to have over Tilda, Callie joins an internet support group for victims of abuse and their friends. However, things spiral out of control and she starts to doubt her own judgment when one of her new acquaintances is killed by an abusive man. And then suddenly Felix dies—or was he murdered?

So glad to hear it! Popping right over! 🙂
Sounds intriguing. This one is new to me. I am featuring A Murder for the Books by Victoria Gilbert. Happy reading!
Thank you, Kathy!
Oh that sounds like one I should read. Have a great weekend. 🙂
Look like some interesting reads.
I took today’s 56 from page 56 of Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. I’ve had this book sitting on my shelf for almost ten years now and haven’t gotten to it yet! Need to remedy that situation soon.

Thank you! Oh yes, that’s a good book! Hope you enjoy it. 🙂
That one sends chills up my spine, and not because of the weather.
Just FYI, for some reason when I went to the Bookbeginnings link up, the link didn’t come to this page. Thanks for visiting my blog.
YES it is a bit chilly. Oh, I’ve probably done something silly like got an old linky link and pasted that instead of the new one… thanks for telling me! 🙂 And you’re very welcome
I have read (and loved) this book! A very chilling read. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
Ooh, I can’t wait to get really into it! Glad you liked it! I love “chilling”. 😀
Sounds like a great read! I love how it starts!! x Happy weekend!
Thank you, Freda! You, too!
That beginning has me super intrigued! Sounds like a great read!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend! 🙂
Brilliant! Thank you. You too!
This one is definitely intriguing! That cover is something that really wants me to know more as well. I hope that you continue to enjoy it. 🙂
Well, if I die accidentally, I hope people can tell that I showered, too. Ha! My Friday Quotes for The 57 Bus
LOL Yes, very clean. So when people are told to ‘always wear clean underwear in case they’re in an accident’ they definitely know something we don’t…
That opening grabbed me too. I’m curious how the title fits into the story.
Sounds like a really interesting psychological thriller. Enjoy your weekend!
